Cloche Display/Serving Stand

I should have titled this craft 1-2-3 SNAP!!!  That's how ridiculously easy it was putting this display/serving stand together.  What makes it even more incredible is the cost.....$7.47!!!

Here's the breakdown:
  • $3.99 for the cloche and base from Goodwill (didn't use base)
  • $.50 for the plate from IKEA (as-is department)
  • $2.98 for the candle stand from Hobby Lobby (80% off aisle)
You'll Need
  • Candle stand
  • Glass cloche
  • Plate
  • Titebond III Wood Glue
  • Markers (optional)

Before you start.....make sure the plate and candle stand are clean.  The candle stand I used had a couple of dings that I covered up with a black marker.

Have your plate upside down on your work surface.

Run a bead of glue all around the top of the candle stand.

Carefully position glue-side down onto the bottom of the plate.....making sure that it's centered.  If you're Anal Annie like me, then you can measure all the way around so everything will be perfect.  Dab up any excess glue that may have splooched out.

Now this is the hard part.....LEAVE IT ALONE TO DRY!!!  The glue I used suggests leaving it be for one hour to set properly.  After that.....display to your heart's content!!!  By the way.....I'm really digging the fleur-de-lis.....so ooh la la!

I understand the concept, but it's your personal choices and personal touch that made this one darn exceptional and you must know that.

Easy Peasy, lemon squeezy! It turned out great! I'm -still- haunting Goodwill for a cheese dome, because I SO want to make one similar to this, and it's been months since I've started looking.

soo super cute! I have all the stuff to make this. Just might have to do this. Don't you just love the 80% off aisle at HL? My husband always rolls his eyes when I beg him to stop. For some reason, the only time I am ever on that side of town is with him. I really need to change that. Anyway-great idea!
