One word.....INDULGE!!!
Chocolate-Covered Strawberries and Maraschino Cherries
by Anne Fleetwood
Printable Recipe
You'll Need
- Strawberries (1/2 a container), washed and dried
- Maraschino Cherries (10-12), dry off
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate, 6 ounces
- White Chocolate, 3 ounces
In a microwave-safe container, melt the chocolate in 30 second increments. Stirring after every 30 seconds until completely melted.
Now just grab a strawberry by the stem and dunk it into the melted chocolate until covered. Give it a little shake to let any excess chocolate run off. Place on a wax paper covered cookie sheet, making sure they are not touching. Do the same process with the maraschino cherries.
Not able to leave well enough alone.....plus I thought they needed some prettying up done to them (if prettying isn't a word, then it should be).
In a separate microwave-safe container, melt the white chocolate in 50 second increments on 50% power, until melted.
Using a fork, scoop up some of the white chocolate and start drizzling it in a sweeping motion over the chocolate-covered fruit. Personally, I prefer the spastic approach.....gives it a certain wildness to it.....kind of like coloring outside of the lines.
This is what you'll get when done.....and oh so chocolatey mess.
Want to get up close and personal.....
Once you're all done with your dipping and drizzling, place the tray in the fridge to let the chocolate set.
If you've got any left over, then place in a covered container and refrigerate.
Go forth and INDULGE.....
