This recipe starts off with a basic Italian Spaghetti Sauce recipe that I've used time and again.....but this time I decided to kick it up a couple of notches.....and the results were a thick and rich spaghetti sauce that goes perfectly over a hearty type of noodle (like armoniche) that can catch and hold onto all those delicious bits and pieces!

You'll Need
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 2-3 cloves garlic, split
- 1 pound ground chuck
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes
- 8 ounces canned beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire
In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once it's good and hot add the onions and garlic, and sauté until the onion is golden, taking care not to burn the garlic.
Add the ground chuck, and continue cooking for 5 minutes. The meat will just be starting to turn brown at this point.
Add the tomato paste, beef broth, tomatoes, sugar, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, cayenne, and Worcestershire; stir well.
Continue cooking over medium heat until the sauce just starts to bubble, then turn heat to simmer and cook for an additional hour; stirring occasionally. If the sauce appears too thick for your liking, then add a little bit more of the beef broth.
